As every Arizonian knows, August is Monsoon Season. In the south, we just call these sudden rains 'gully washers'. But I have come to know that a Monsoon can mean quite a bit of destruction with a little bit rain. High winds bring dust storms, flying trampolines, palm tree debris and fallen cacti. The rains bring flash floods and something called the "stupid motorist law" for those who think that it's not too deep to drive through! :-) These monsoons are also accompanied by fantastic lightening displays and finish up with gorgeous rainbows (which my camera and photography ability couldn't do justice to).
Tho's at times this world seems dreary
and life's colors pale to gray,
His name softly spoken
brings sunlight to my day.
The palette of the spectrum
throughout my soul unfurls
the hues of a glorious rainbow
Jesus colors my world.
